In reference to the article on Homecoming Week activities in the last edition of the Weekly, a bartending services donation for the Homecoming Dance wasn’t an issue. Campus Dining charges for bartender labor. Over Homecoming and Family Weekend, so many catered events were scheduled (and attended by alumni, students, faculty, family and staff) that Campus Dining’s regular workforce could not stretch to accommodate the need. Agency staff persons were hired as supplements for the catered events. Using regular staff members as bartenders wouldn’t have been the best use of their talents; they were needed to work with and direct the activities of the agency staff on the various events.
