Brady Fuller
First basemen Brady Fuller (senior) helped lead the Tigers to a three-game sweep against Caltech over the weekend, going 5 for 8 with two RBIs throughout the series. The Tigers dominated all weekend, plating 37 unanswered runs before the Beavers finally broke through offensively in the third game.
“Our goal has always been to win a conference championship, but we just try to take things one inning at a time, trust that our process and preparation put us in a place to succeed and let the results take care of themselves,” Fuller said via email. “Being surrounded by such talented teammates makes it easy to do just that.”
Even though the women’s lacrosse team has gotten off to a rough start this season — dropping two games against Redlands and Pomona-Pitzer, respectively — first-year attacker Shai Goodman put up a stellar performance in both games, opening her collegiate career with back-to-back hat tricks.
“I have learned so much since coming to Occidental and I would not have had successful games without every person on our team,” Goodman said via email. “I think that we as a team still have a lot of work to do, and we all need to keep improving every practice. None of us are going to be satisfied until we bring back a win.
