I was at a party this past weekend about a mile from campus where at least a dozen freshmen showed up by foot. These first-years quickly made their way to the alcohol and stood around talking amongst themselves, avoiding interaction with those of us who were supposed to be there. Over the course of the evening I eventually heard one of them ask the hostess if she went to Oxy. Meanwhile, the other invited guests and I wondered who these people were and how they found our party. So, I ask the following of the class of 2012: If you don’t know who’s hosting the party do not go to the party, do not come and take advantage of other people’s hospitality.
