In case you haven’t already noticed, KOXY radio programming is in full effect this semester. I guarantee that if you tune in to koxyradio.com or check out one of our upcoming quad shows, you’ll hear some hella good music.
On our website you will find our current schedule along with information about our diverse DJs and shows. Although we have an excellent line-up, there are still some DJ slots open. I encourage anyone interested to go to the “Get Involved” section of our website and download a DJ application. Drop off completed applications at the KOXY mailbox located in the bottom of the Johnson Student Center at the SAC.
With lots of new initiatives being implemented, we expect this to be a huge year for KOXY. While programming is mainly on campus for now, we plan to continue developing our community outreach program to get LA locals more involved. Building off our work from last year in which we co-sponsored two concerts at the Eagle Rock Center for the Arts, we will be hosting a slew of local experimental acts on our very own stage at this year’s Eagle Rock Music festival on October 2. In addition, we are in the midst of planning some really rad shows, which we will be announcing very soon.
I would also like to announce that KOXY now has an official music blog that can be found on our website under the “Blog” tab. This blog will serve as your source for all happenings in the LA music scene. We will be posting everything from mp3 links to random going ons to concert/album reviews. If you’re looking to get more informed about local music or just music in general, please pay our blog a visit!
